How to get rid of WOWphobia

Diet

This might sound very irrational to all you coffee lovers, but starting your day with a cup of coffee doesn't necessary boost you. Try starting it with 2 cups of water instead. (You can drink those on the way to work, I won't spoil your "working coffee" fun).
Those chips in your bag (yep I see them, you're not hiding them well enough), they're enough to get you in a sour mood for the rest of the day. Change them for an apple, a carrot, or a cucumber (my personal favs). You can keep the chocolate if you want, but limit yourself to 2 cubes a day.
If you have time in the morning, or at night, you can prepare a yummy salad (no need to buy an overpriced one, really). Stock up on lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes (the basics), and be original. You can add hearts-of-palm, or pumpkin, or nuts, or mangos, or chicken. Anything can go in a salad.

Sport

If you're walking distance from work-WALK, or ride a bike, or a horse. But don't turtle-walk, that'll give you too much time to think about work. Try Power-walking. It'll give you a boost of energy, and a chance to drink those 2 cups of water I was talking about.

If you must drive, try parking 2 blocks away so you can get at least a 10 minute walk every day. It's important for your bloodflow, and, guess what? For your confidence. Did you know excersicing increases your self esteem and confidence? If you feel competent, others will feel it about you too.

Take a bus to work every day? I feel your pain. Try getting off a stop or two before your destination. If it's morning, and you're running late, leave it for the afternoon (that's what I do). But don't leave it entirely out of your schedule. Remember, exercise=confidence.

Ok, you got to work. Same. Exact. Desk. Same. Exact. People.  Well, there's nothing I can do about the people you work with. Lets focus on your ENVIRONMENT.

A work environment can be very dull. And messy. Let's focus on the "dull" part for a moment.
If you work in a cubicle, like I do, the walls might get boring, and that's all that surrounds you for 7 hours a day. Try spicing it up, I added butterflies.
Make sure you don't over-spice it though, it might distract you. You can change your mouse pad every once in a while, you'd be surprised how the entire look of the desk will get affected by it.

Are you messy? I am. But I need the mess. Most people find it hard to concentrate when their desk is cluttered. Here are the essential things you need on your desk:

*Computer
*Keyboard
*Mouse
*Pen
*Post-it notes
*Water bottle

What was that? A phone? Your phone isn't essential for your desk. It is bound to distract you from work. So unless you're expecting an important call, leave it in your bag, or in your drawer (if you have one). Even if the phone is on silent, resisting to check your messages every 5 minutes is really hard.

Try not to have too many cables around you. There are all kinds of neat tricks to organize them. Here is a link to a bunch of them:
WATERWATERWATERWATER

Remember to drink 8-10 cups a day. (Tip: it'll cause you to go to the bathroom more often, thus allowing you to stretch your legs). You can put a pop-up reminder on your desktop, which will remind you to drink.

Breaks

Try taking a few short breaks during your work day. You might think it's wasting your time, but it is actually increasing your productivity. Walk around the office, or, if you can, go outside to get some fresh air (no smoking, DUH).
Sitting Position
For the proper sitting position when sitting at the computer, click the link below: http://www.wikihow.com/Sit-at-a-Computer
Tip: if you're feet don't reach the ground when you're at work, bring a plastic box to rest your feet on. Leaving them dangling isn't comfortable, and sitting like a pretzel for 7 hours makes your feet numb (experience speaking here folks).

Hoooooooome

Before you leave work, think of what made you happy that day, repeat it the next day. Then think of what bothered you, and think of a solution for that, so it won't bother you again. Feel free to ask for advice. It's what I'm here for.

Ciao for now folks,
